FROM DRAWING BOARD TO SITE

One drawing.
Only the current revision.

Follow a technical drawing through Constellio: indexed on arrival, reviewed with markups, approved as a new revision and opened on site without any doubt about which version it is.

  1. 01Index

Find any drawing by what it is, not where it is.

Drawings, specifications and manuals are indexed with their metadata (number, project, discipline, equipment tag) so the search engine built for technical departments can find them in seconds.

    • CAD, PDF and office formats
    • Metadata captured on arrival
    • Search by tag, project or discipline
  2. 02Review

Review together, on the drawing itself.

Reviewers annotate the same file and discuss each markup in context. Nothing is lost in an email thread, and every comment is traced.

    • Shared markups and comments
    • Discussions in context
    • Traced review history
  3. 03Approve

Approve a revision, supersede the rest.

Approving revision C supersedes revisions A and B automatically. They remain in the history for compliance, but no one can mistake them for the current version.

    • Controlled revision workflow
    • Automatic supersession
    • Full revision history
  4. 04Use in the field

Give the field the current revision only.

Technicians search by equipment tag from a tablet and open the approved revision. Access follows their role, and the documents they need can be available offline.

    • Current revision only
    • Role-based access

HOW IT WORKS

Every technical document in.
One current revision out.

Technical documents come from engineers, contractors and suppliers in many formats. Constellio indexes them, controls their revisions and makes the current one easy to find for anyone authorised.

QUESTIONS

Built around
your technical teams.

What engineering and maintenance leaders usually ask before a demo. If yours is not here, ask us directly.

01Can Constellio manage CAD drawings?

Yes. Constellio stores CAD files alongside their PDF renderings and other formats, with metadata such as drawing number, project, discipline and equipment tag. Viewing and editing still happen in your CAD tools.

02How are revisions controlled?

Revisions follow a controlled workflow. When a new revision is approved, previous ones are superseded automatically: they remain in the history for compliance, but only the current revision is served by default.

03Can field teams access documents on site?

Yes. Authorised technicians can search by equipment tag and open the current revision from a tablet or laptop, with access that follows their role. Offline availability is defined during the project’s technical scoping.

04Does Constellio help with standards compliance?

Constellio provides the tracking and control features that support compliance: versions, approvals, traced activity and retention rules. Your organisation defines which standards apply and how they are evidenced.

05Where should we start?

Most technical departments start with one project or one class of documents, such as drawings for a site. Constellio’s migration, governance and support teams can help plan a phased deployment.
